On May 28, the Coast Keeper hosted a beach clean up around Fiesta Island. I went with my grandmother and we brought the necessary supplies needed for the clean up. For example, we brought gloves and buckets to use to pick up the trash. It started around 9 o clock and we stayed till 10 because we had some errands to run. However, I notice when we were picking up trash of how much litter was on the beach. This brought into my attention that we humans to realize our trash is greatly impacting the environment. Animals will mistake this trash as food and consume the waste, which harms them in the process. I think the coast keeper hosting this clean up is one of the best way to educate people about our environment and how we need to clean up after ourselves. I interviewed a father and his son, they told me that they come to these beach clean ups every other Sunday. This struck me because people like them help our global world move into a eco friendly environment. I am glad that I participated in a community clean up for a tomorrow cleaner ocean.
